About me
Meet the Founder — Mrs. Stacey Hennebry, the heart and hands behind Racehorse Revival.
I’m Stacey Hennebry, married to Kieran, a dedicated dairy farmer, and together we’re blessed with a wonderful little boy. We’re proud to call Dungarvan, County Waterford — one of Ireland’s most beautiful places — our home.
Horses have been a huge part of my life for as long as I can remember — and I have to thank my late gran uncle JohnMicheal for introducing horses to me, he had some nice thoroughbred broodmares and some half breds and I used to spend my weekends helping him. I spent my early pony days hunting and show jumping, fast forward to where I am now, dedicating my career to helping Thoroughbreds find balance, confidence, and joy beyond the track.
I began my journey riding ponies, hunting, and show jumping before progressing to producing horses up to 1.10m / 1.20m showjumping level. That foundation really stood to me and gave me a love for the sport — but my real turning point came when I was lucky enough to work for one of Ireland’s top National Hunt trainers, Henry de Bromhead.
During my time there, my role focused on carrying out the flat work with the racehorses each morning. This involved developing correct way of going, improving balance, and strengthening core, back, and hind-end engagement through consistent, sympathetic flatwork. The aim was to help the horses move more freely and efficiently, while supporting their overall soundness and longevity.
I was fortunate to school some truly exceptional horses , including Fully Charged, Minella times, Chris’s Dream, balko de Flos, Email Rose, BenRuben, Minella indo, Poker Party ,Bold Enough (who’s now in training with David Christie’s Point-to-Point team) to name just a few the list does go on.
I also had the pleasure of spending days at the races, plaiting, leading up, and helping to prepare horses for the races— experiences that gave me an even greater appreciation for the care, precision, and teamwork behind the sport.
It was through that time in racing that my love for Thoroughbreds truly came alive or as I like to call it the Grá for thoroughbreds...Their intelligence, heart, and adaptability continue to amaze me — and it was this passion that inspired me to create Racehorse Revival: a place where racehorses can recover, rebuild, and begin their next chapter with the time, patience, and understanding they deserve.
Since then, I’ve proudly retrained several ex-racehorses, including Fully Charged & Minella United both trained by Henry de bromhead, and Our newest addition GraigStar, who was in training with Declan Queally until recently. She’s showing fantastic potential, and I’m looking forward to campaigning her on the showing circuit next season, with hopes of also introducing her to some eventing.
Another special success story of mine is the beautiful Fully Charged a horse I adore and had the privilege of riding during his time in training with Henry de Bromhead, where he won multiple races on the track. I was lucky enough to purchase him after his racing career, and the partnership we built has been incredibly rewarding, he is such a kind wonderful horse. Since his reschooling, he’s excelled in the Racehorse to Riding Horse classes — consistently placing in the top three at every show we entered and finishing Top 10 at the Dublin Horse Show. We hope to campaign him again next year on the show circuit plus introducing him to some working hunters eventing and we might take him to the UK.
These experiences have strengthened my belief that Thoroughbreds deserve the very best opportunities after racing — and that owners and trainers need somewhere they can trust to send their horses for professional, compassionate care.
Through Racehorse Revival, my goal is to provide exactly that: a reliable, transparent, and nurturing environment where every horse is treated as an individual and given the time and guidance to thrive. I’m deeply passionate about flatwork, correct training, and helping each horse find softness, strength, and confidence in their work. This isn’t just a business — it’s my calling. I want to give back to the sport and to the incredible horses that have given me so much. 🌿
